Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KMPR) has appointed Eric Kappler as Executive Vice President and President, Property & Casualty, effective July 30, according to a press release from the company.
Kappler will oversee Kemper's P&C organization, including specialty personal and commercial vehicle lines and P&C claims operations. He will report to President and CEO Stephen J. McAnena. Kappler replaces Matthew Hunton, who has departed the company.
Kappler most recently served as President of Bristol West Insurance, where he led what the company described as a multibillion-dollar business. He has more than two decades of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, with a focus on the non-standard auto market.
"Eric is an accomplished insurance executive with deep experience in our business and an impressive record of delivering results," McAnena said in the statement.
Kemper, headquartered in Chicago, reported approximately $12 billion in assets and serves over 4.5 million policies.
