Beam Global (Nasdaq: BEEM) announced it received battery orders totaling more than $0.5 million in a single week from customers in the drone and autonomous robotics markets, according to a company press release.
The San Diego-based company said it could not disclose the identities of the customers or specifics of the orders due to confidentiality requirements.
Beam Global said the orders were placed by customers seeking battery solutions with high energy-to-weight ratios, patented thermal management technology, custom form factors, and engineered configurations. The company's thermal management technology is designed to prevent thermal runaway and reduce the risk of battery fires.
"We are winning these battery sales because our patented technology and engineering prowess matter to discerning customers," said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Beam Global. "AI-controlled drones and robots require energy density, safety, long life and a form factor which will not compromise the overall design of the device."
Beam Global operates in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, with facilities in San Diego and Yuma, AZ, among other locations. The company also offers an off-grid drone recharging product alongside its battery solutions.
