Honda extends GAC Honda joint venture in China through 2038

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (NYSE: HMC) announced it has signed an agreement with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group) to extend the joint venture term of GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. through 2038.
The agreement was signed on July 20, 2026, according to a statement from Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (HMCI), a wholly-owned Honda subsidiary in China.
GAC Honda was established in July 1998 as Honda's first automobile production and sales joint venture in China. The company began automobile production in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in March 1999 and has recorded cumulative sales of more than 11 million units.
Honda stated the transaction is not anticipated to have a material impact on its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.
