Aon plc (NYSE: AON) has expanded its Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program (DCLP) to $5 billion in capacity, up from a previous level of $3.5 billion, according to a company statement.
The expanded program provides up to $5 billion in Construction All Risks, Delay in Start-Up, and Property Damage and Business Interruption coverage, backed by a panel of A-rated insurers from Lloyd's and company markets.
Additional coverage under the updated program includes up to $200 million in third-party liability outside the U.S. and $100 million within the U.S., $400 million in Cyber and Technology Errors and Omissions, $500 million in project cargo coverage, and up to $1 billion in terrorism capacity.
The program also incorporates expanded advisory services through Aon Global Risk Consulting, covering climate risk, environmental risk, security risk consulting, risk engineering, and operational resilience across the asset lifecycle.
"As clients build larger and more complex data center portfolios, they need access to greater insurance capacity alongside solutions that strengthen resilience throughout the asset lifecycle," said Joe Peiser, CEO of Risk Capital for Aon.
Aon described the enhancements as part of what it calls a "Reliable by Design" approach, integrating insurance capacity, engineering expertise, and risk advisory services earlier in the development process.
