Evaxion to present 3-year cancer vaccine data at ESMO 2026

July 17, 2026 7:15 AM EDT

Evaxion A/S (NASDAQ: EVAX) said it will present three-year clinical efficacy data from its phase 2 trial of personalized cancer vaccine candidate EVX-01 at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026, scheduled for October 23-27 in Madrid, Spain.

The data comes from a one-year extension of the phase 2 trial evaluating EVX-01 in patients with advanced melanoma. During the third year of the trial, a subset of patients received EVX-01 as a stand-alone therapy, without combination with anti-PD-1 treatment.

Previously reported two-year data from the trial showed an Objective Response Rate of 75%, with 12 out of 16 patients achieving objective clinical responses and four patients achieving a complete response. At two years of follow-up, 92% of patients were still responding and no relapses were observed. Tumor reduction in target lesions was observed in 15 of the 16 enrolled patients.

In the first two years of the trial, patients received EVX-01 in combination with Merck & Co.'s anti-PD-1 therapy Keytruda (pembrolizumab). EVX-01 induced an immune response in all patients, with 86% of targeted neoantigens generating T-cell responses, according to the company.

The poster presentation, titled "EVX-01, a personalized cancer vaccine, induces sustained T-cell responses and durable disease control in advanced melanoma after three-year of follow-up," is scheduled for October 24, 2026, at 12:00 CET in Hall 5. The presenter will be Dr. Muhammad Adnan Khattak of One Clinical Research, Hollywood Private Hospital and Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia.

The information is based on a press release issued by Evaxion.
