FIS (NYSE: FIS), a financial technology company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, has joined Project Glasswing, an Anthropic initiative that uses frontier AI models to identify and address security vulnerabilities in critical software infrastructure, according to a press release.
As part of its participation, FIS is using Mythos 5, Anthropic's most advanced AI model, to scan and evaluate its own systems. Project Glasswing brings together organizations that build or maintain foundational software, with participants using Anthropic's AI models for defensive security purposes.
FIS operates systems that clear payments, move money, and run core banking for thousands of institutions worldwide. The company said its involvement in Project Glasswing is separate from its existing commercial AI partnership with Anthropic, which involves the deployment of Anthropic AI agents.
FIS also noted that its broader security posture includes participation in FS-ISAC and the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council, along with ongoing regulatory collaboration and industry intelligence-sharing.
