Bridger Aerospace wins DOI task order for wildfire surveillance aircraft

Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BAER, BAERW) has been awarded a 112-day task order by the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) to deploy a modified King Air 350 aircraft for wildfire and emergency operations support across the United States.

The aircraft, which underwent modifications at Bridger's FAA-certified repair station with support from its Huntsville engineering team, will be based in Bozeman, Montana, and operate through the end of October. It is equipped with Blackhawk engine upgrades, Garmin avionics, dual sensor systems, and real-time data dissemination capabilities.

The sensor suite includes what Bridger claims is the first use of Wide Area Motion Imagery (WAMI) technology in wildfire operations, paired with an MX-15 electro-optical/infrared sensor.

"This project was an extraordinary undertaking for our team, and we believe it has the potential to significantly enhance how intelligence is collected, shared, and acted upon in the field," said Bridger CEO Sam Davis.

The Belgrade, Montana-based company provides aerial firefighting and wildfire management services to federal and state government agencies, including the U.S. Forest Service.
