Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH) announced a leadership transition at its subsidiary Vantage Group Holdings Ltd., appointing Marc Grandisson as Executive Chairman, effective immediately, and naming David Gansberg as CEO-designate.
Grandisson previously served as CEO of Arch Capital Group (NASDAQ: ACGL) from 2018 until his retirement in 2024. During his tenure, Arch generated a total shareholder return of 298%, or 23.2% per annum. He joined Arch's founding team in 2001 and earlier worked at Berkshire Hathaway and F&G Re.
Gansberg also joined Arch in 2001 and most recently served as President of Arch Capital Group, where he had accountability for its Global Insurance Group. He is expected to assume the CEO role at Vantage once his non-competition obligations expire in June 2027.
Greg Hendrick, who co-founded Vantage in 2020 and has served as its CEO, will remain in the role until Gansberg takes over. Grandisson will work alongside Hendrick during the transition period.
"In Marc and David, we have two of the most accomplished leaders in the industry to guide Vantage into its next chapter," said Bill Ackman, Executive Chairman of Howard Hughes.
Grandisson said his conviction in the opportunity at Vantage has grown since joining the Howard Hughes board, describing it as "an exceptional diversified insurance platform."
Vantage, a specialty insurance and reinsurance company, became a subsidiary of Howard Hughes following a recent acquisition. Howard Hughes is a diversified holding company whose principal subsidiaries are Vantage Group Holdings and Howard Hughes Communities.
