Tombigbee Fiber, LLC is deploying agentic AI workflows through Calix, Inc.'s (NYSE: CALX) Agent Workforce Cloud, according to a press release from Calix. The rural Mississippi fiber provider is using the tools within the Calix One platform to support operations across marketing, customer support, and network management.
Tombigbee, founded in 2019, has been a Calix customer for seven years. During that period, the company reported reaching positive cash flow within two years of operation and achieving a Net Promoter Score of 92.
Scott Hendrix, chief executive officer at Tombigbee Fiber and Tombigbee Electric Power Association, said the technology is "helping our teams learn faster, better understand complex information, and navigate subscriber interactions with greater confidence," adding that the company is "still in the early stages" of its Agent Workforce Cloud deployment.
Tombigbee's existing community initiatives include SmartTown, which provides free Wi-Fi to first responders in areas with limited cellular coverage; a "Friday Night Fiber" program connecting nine high school football stadiums with public Wi-Fi; and digital safety tools through Bark, included for all residential subscribers.
The Calix One platform processes more than one petabyte of data daily and executes over 4.3 billion workflows annually, according to Calix.
Michael Weening, president and chief executive officer at Calix, said the agentic AI capabilities are intended to help Tombigbee "dramatically accelerate personalized subscriber experiences at scale while reducing operational complexity."
