La-Z-Boy expands 3D Cloud technology to generate 16M product images

La-Z-Boy Incorporated (NYSE: LZB) announced it is expanding its use of 3D Cloud's API-based technology to generate photorealistic product images across its digital shopping and design channels, according to a press release issued July 15, 2026.

The system generates an image for every possible product and style combination, replacing what the company described as a time-intensive manual rendering process. When fully scaled over the next few years, the platform is expected to deliver 16 million individual renders on demand.

Gerardo Ornelas, VP of Enterprise Digital Transformation for La-Z-Boy, said the expanded technology allows the company to "show every product and configuration exactly as it will be built" and gives customers "an improved shopping and design experience, while supporting our team with tools to move faster and align with merchandising priorities."

The API-based platform also supports both retail and wholesale channels by making product imagery easier to distribute and keep current. La-Z-Boy said the technology will be offered to interior designers and consumers to visualize furniture in their spaces.

Ornelas noted the company plans to continue expanding its use of 3D technology and is exploring room scanning and AI applications.

La-Z-Boy operates more than 370 stores, including 226 company-owned locations, and employs approximately 11,000 people globally. 3D Cloud, headquartered in Miamisburg, Ohio, provides 3D visualization software to retailers including Macy's, MillerKnoll, and Kingfisher plc.
