First Busey CEO Van Dukeman extends contract through July 2029

First Busey Corporation (Nasdaq: BUSE) announced that Van Dukeman, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in his current roles through July 1, 2029.

Dukeman will continue to serve as Chairman and President of First Busey Corporation and as Chairman of the board of directors of Busey Bank. Under the terms of the letter agreement, he will retain at least 300,000 shares of FBC common stock for a two-year period following the end of his tenure as CEO.

Dukeman has led Busey since 2007, when he became President and CEO following a merger with Main Street Bank and Trust. During his tenure, the company's assets grew from $4 billion to more than $18 billion through organic growth and nine acquisitions. As of March 31, 2026, First Busey Corporation was an $18.04 billion financial holding company headquartered in Leawood, Kansas.

"Viable internal succession options exist with several executive team members able to step in when the time for leadership transition eventually arrives," Dukeman said in a statement.

Busey Bank currently operates 80 banking centers across 10 states. The company's wealth management division reported assets under care of $15.65 billion as of March 31, 2026.
