Quantum Cyber files patent for modular drone launch system

Quantum Cyber N.V. (Nasdaq: QUCY) announced the filing of a provisional patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office covering a modular drone launch system designed to deploy autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles rapidly and at scale.

The application was filed through the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Quantum Drones Corporation, and covers a canisterized architecture intended to store, protect, and release autonomous drones in rapid succession. The system is designed to be mountable on ground vehicles, fixed sites, and maritime platforms, and to support day and night operation.

The launch system is designed to integrate with the company's proprietary ground control system, providing a single interface for mission planning, launch coordination, and swarm operations. The company states the system also has potential civilian applications, including defense of airports, energy facilities, and government sites against unauthorized drone activity.

The filing positions the launch system as a component of Quantum Cyber's broader System-of-Systems platform, which the company says spans drone warfare, counter-UAS, naval mine countermeasures, EMP shielding, and command-and-control applications.

"The Pentagon is seeking approximately $55 billion for drone and autonomous warfare capabilities in its FY2027 budget request," said David Lazar, Chief Executive Officer of Quantum Cyber. "This filing extends our System-of-Systems platform into the launch and deployment layer."

The filing of a provisional patent application does not guarantee issuance of a patent. The company has not disclosed a timeline for commercialization or government procurement contracts related to the system.
