Bank of America adds nine senior bankers to regional investment banking unit

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) announced nine senior hires across its Regional Investment Banking business, expanding coverage in Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, and West Palm Beach.

The new bankers will report to Neil Kell and Samardh Kumar, co-heads of Regional Investment Banking. The additions bring the unit's total to more than 200 bankers across 26 U.S. cities. The bank says the business has added 20 cities since launching in 2016.

According to data from Dealogic as of June 30, 2026, Bank of America held the top investment banking ranking among Global Commercial Banking clients for the third consecutive year.

The nine hires include managing directors drawn from firms including Rothschild, Lazard, BMO Capital Markets, J.P. Morgan, and BlackArch Partners, as well as two returning Bank of America alumni. Their backgrounds span M&A advisory, industrials, technology, financial sponsors, and capital markets.

Bob Berry joins from Rothschild with more than 35 years of experience, based in Boston. Matt Dalton joins from Lazard with more than 20 years of experience, based in Minneapolis. Rick Florjancic joins from BMO Capital Markets with nearly 30 years of experience, based in Chicago. Ian Mackay joins from BlackArch Partners, based in Charlotte. Joe Park, based in Detroit, previously served as president and CFO of Princeton NuEnergy. Mitch Theiss, a returning hire with more than 35 years of experience, is based in West Palm Beach. Daniel Webb, also a returning hire, is based in Austin. Joe Winters joins from J.P. Morgan with more than 25 years of experience, based in San Francisco. Bo Brown joins from BMO Capital Markets, based in New York.
