Tonix secures Medicare payer deal for TONMYA, expanding coverage to 46%

Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: TNXP) announced a managed Medicare payer agreement for its fibromyalgia drug TONMYA® (cyclobenzaprine HCl sublingual tablets), adding approximately 9 million Medicare lives to the drug's coverage network. The agreement takes effect January 1, 2027.

According to a press release from the company, the new deal covers roughly 16% of the approximately 55 million Medicare lives in the U.S. Combined with two previously announced commercial payer agreements with group purchasing organizations effective in the second quarter of 2026, and Medicaid availability in most states covering approximately 73 million lives, total pharmacy coverage for TONMYA is expected to reach approximately 145 million covered lives, or 46% of 314 million covered lives in the U.S., starting January 1, 2027.

Tonix also announced plans to expand its sales force by 50 representatives, with deployment expected by mid-third quarter 2026. The addition would bring the total sales force to approximately 150 people.

"Patient access to TONMYA is accelerating with the new Medicare agreement on top of two previously announced commercial coverage wins in the first two full quarters of launch," said Seth Lederman, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Tonix Pharmaceuticals.

TONMYA received FDA approval on August 15, 2025, for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. The company claims it is the first new prescription medicine approved for fibromyalgia in more than 15 years. Tonix states that patents on the drug are expected to provide U.S. market exclusivity until 2034.

The company said discussions with additional commercial and Medicare payers are continuing.
