Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY) has engaged three advisory firms to support its investor relations and government affairs functions as it works to position its power infrastructure in the Tennessee Valley Authority region for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing deployment, according to a press release.
Orange Group Advisors has been named as the company's investor relations partner. The firm focuses on Bitcoin and AI infrastructure clients, including miners, infrastructure operators, and AI compute companies.
Sphere 3D also engaged Laine Communications and White Oak Strategies to handle government affairs and regulatory engagement in Tennessee. Laine Communications is led by Chuck Laine, who has over 30 years of experience in Tennessee government affairs. White Oak Strategies was founded by Michael Sullivan, a former Executive Director of the Tennessee Republican Party and former State Director in U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty's office.
The company currently operates approximately 53 MW of power-ready infrastructure across multiple U.S. data center locations, with a development pipeline it describes as exceeding 100 MW of potential expansion. Sphere 3D was formed through a June 2026 business combination with Cathedra Bitcoin.
The announcements follow the company's previously disclosed proposal to rebrand as DarkHorse Technologies Inc. under the reserved Nasdaq ticker "DRK." That change remains subject to shareholder approval at a special meeting scheduled for August 24, 2026.
"These engagements bring specialized capability to the functions that matter most as we execute against that opportunity," said Joel Block, Chief Executive Officer of Sphere 3D.
