Coinbase CLO Paul Grewal to step down, Ryan Van Grack named Vice Chairman

Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN) announced that Chief Legal Officer and Secretary Paul Grewal notified the company on July 8, 2026, of his intention to resign, effective July 31, 2026.
The company expects to appoint Molly Abraham, currently Vice President of Legal, as General Counsel and Secretary following Grewal's departure.
The company also announced that Ryan Van Grack will step into a new role as Vice Chairman, transitioning into a broader corporate and public-facing position.
Coinbase and Grewal entered into an advisor agreement on July 8, 2026, under which Grewal will assist with the transition of his responsibilities and provide advisory services from August 1, 2026 through October 31, 2026. Under the agreement, Grewal will receive a lump sum payment equal to three months of his base salary, payable after the advisory period ends. He will also continue vesting of restricted stock units scheduled to vest on August 20, 2026, subject to his continued service during the advisory period.
