Anfield Energy leases two mining claims in Colorado for uranium projects

July 9, 2026 8:17 AM EDT

Anfield Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: AEC) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Highbury Resources Inc., has entered into a mining lease agreement with Gold Eagle Mining Inc. for two patented mining claims in southwestern Colorado, dated July 1, 2026.

The two properties — the Slick Rock Claim in San Miguel County and the Paradox D Claim in Montrose County — will be added to Anfield's existing land holdings for its JD-5 and Slick Rock uranium-vanadium projects in the Uravan Belt of the Colorado Plateau.

Under the terms of the perpetual lease, Highbury received exclusive rights to explore, develop, mine, and extract minerals from the properties. No royalties, rents, or production-based payments are required. Highbury's primary obligations include paying annual property taxes on the Slick Rock Claim and maintaining general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in aggregate, naming Gold Eagle as an additional insured. Property taxes on the Paradox D Claim remain the responsibility of existing surface lessee DISA Technologies Inc.

Anfield said the properties will be incorporated into upcoming mine design and permitting activities for the JD-5 and Slick Rock projects, which the company describes as potential feed sources for its hub-and-spoke development model centered on the Shootaring Canyon Mill in Utah.

"These new claims will provide additional flexibility as we advance mine design and permitting for the JD-5 and Slick Rock projects as part of our hub-and-spoke strategy," said Corey Dias, Chief Executive Officer of Anfield Energy.

Don Coram, President of Gold Eagle Mining Inc. and a former Colorado state legislator, said he looks forward to working with Anfield on developing the uranium and vanadium resources.

Anfield stated it is also advancing Phase Two underground development at its Velvet-Wood mine and ongoing refurbishment at the Shootaring Canyon Mill, according to the company's press release.
