DuPont updates WAVE PRO to integrate multiple water treatment technologies

DuPont (NYSE: DD) announced an update to its Water Application Value Engine, known as WAVE PRO, expanding the web-based modeling tool to support integrated design across four water treatment technologies: ultrafiltration (UF), ion exchange resins (IER), reverse osmosis (RO), and nanofiltration (NF).

Previously requiring separate simulations, the platform now allows water treatment professionals to model all four technologies within a single environment. The tool supports applications including drinking water, industrial utility water, wastewater, and seawater desalination.

"By bringing these core water treatment technologies together, WAVE PRO provides more accurate, data-driven system design that optimizes membrane and energy use, can extend asset lifetimes, and helps customers reduce the environmental footprint of water treatment while achieving their operational and financial goals," said Sylvia Insogna, Digital Leader at DuPont Water Solutions.

According to the company, the integrated approach captures interdependencies between technologies that can affect system performance. As one example cited in the announcement, an integrated simulation can show how upstream UF may improve downstream RO performance.

The platform incorporates DuPont's own product lines, including IntegraTec and Inge ultrafiltration modules, AmberLite ion exchange resins, and FilmTec RO and NF elements. It supports collaboration by allowing multiple users to access and work on shared project files.

WAVE PRO is a free, web-based tool compatible with Microsoft Windows and iOS devices. It is available through DuPont Water Solutions' digital portal.
