July 8, 2026 5:00 PM EDT

BellRing Brands, Inc. (NYSE: BRBR) announced the appointment of Michael Axelrod as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 29, 2026. He will also join the company's Board of Directors.

Axelrod succeeds Darcy Davenport, who announced her intention to retire earlier this year. Davenport will remain in a senior advisory capacity to support the leadership transition.

Axelrod brings more than 30 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. He joins BellRing from Snak King, a manufacturer of branded and private label salty snacks, where he served as CEO. Previously, he was CEO of Del Real Foods, where he oversaw revenue growth and national expansion. He also held the CEO role at Passport Food Group and spent five years at TreeHouse Foods in senior leadership positions. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Whirlpool Corporation, Kraft Foods, McCain Foods, and Pactiv Corporation. He began his career at Boston Consulting Group. Axelrod holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Western Ontario Ivey Business School and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

Robert V. Vitale, Chairman of the Board, credited Davenport with helping grow the company to over $2.3 billion in sales during her tenure.

"I am honored to be chosen as the next leader of BellRing," Axelrod said. "Consumer demand for protein remains exceptionally strong. With the #1 ready-to-drink protein brand, deep category expertise and strong retailer relationships, BellRing is well positioned to drive long-term growth through customer focus, innovation and operational rigor."

BellRing Brands is the parent company of Premier Protein and Dymatize brands, with products distributed in over 90 countries.
