GitLab Inc. (NASDAQ: GTLB) published updated business slides on its investor relations website on July 8, 2026, providing revised information on its consumption-based revenue metric.
The company disclosed changes to its Consumption Run Rate (CRR) calculation, a metric first introduced during its first-quarter fiscal year 2027 earnings call on June 2, 2026. The revisions include incorporating Flex, a new consumption-based buying program launched after the June earnings call, and excluding certain one-time credit incentives granted to paying customers.
After applying those adjustments, GitLab said its CRR at the end of Q1 FY27 would have been approximately $15 million, compared to the "nearly $20 million" figure discussed on the earnings call. The company added that CRR has since surpassed $20 million as of June 30, 2026, reflecting continued growth in paid consumption trends.
GitLab noted that CRR is not currently material to its overall financial performance given the recent launch of its consumption-based products. The company stated it expects the metric's definition and calculation methodology to continue evolving as the consumption business develops.
