Vonage launches MFA connector for Okta with fraud protection

July 8, 2026 8:30 AM EDT

Vonage, a subsidiary of Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), announced the launch of the Vonage Protection Suite for Okta, a pre-built connector designed to deliver one-time passwords (OTPs) with integrated fraud protection for enterprise customers using Okta's identity platform.

The self-service connector supports SMS and voice authentication and is intended to meet Bring Your Own Telephony (BYOT) requirements without requiring custom telephony infrastructure. It is available through the Vonage Cloud Runtime Marketplace and operates across more than 200 countries.

The product combines Vonage's Verify routing technology with two fraud protection tools — Identity Insights and Fraud Defender — which use mobile network data to validate phone numbers before OTP delivery and monitor for threats in real time. The solution includes SMS-to-voice fallback, carrier routing, and automatic sender ID management for regulatory compliance.

According to Okta's Secure Sign-In Trends Report 2025, MFA adoption has reached 70% of the workforce. The Cifas Fraudscape 2026 report noted a 38% surge in SIM swap fraud in 2025.

"Enterprises using Okta need authentication that's not just fast, but trustworthy, and that means going beyond basic message delivery to actively protect against fraud," said Christophe Van de Weyer, President and Head of Business Unit API at Vonage.

The connector is available now via the Vonage Cloud Runtime Marketplace.
