Bio-Techne Corporation (NASDAQ: TECH) announced the launch of five new proteins added to its R&D Systems AI-Engineered Designer Protein portfolio, according to a company press release dated July 8, 2026.
The new additions include FGF-4 Heat Stable, FGF-7 Heat Stable, FGF-8b Heat Stable, IL-3 Heat Stable, and IL-15 Hyperactive. These proteins span the fibroblast growth factor and interleukin cytokine families and are designed for use in cell therapy development, stem cell culture, organoid expansion, and regenerative medicine workflows.
The proteins are engineered using AI-guided design with the goal of improving heat stability, activity, and solubility in cell culture applications. Bio-Techne states the portfolio is intended to support consistent results across workflows ranging from early research to manufacturing scale.
Dr. Branden Moriarity, Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Minnesota, commented on one of the proteins: "IL-2 Heat Stable Agonist Protein provides a promising proliferation advantage to TIL samples and also provides clear operational advantages that would reduce the cost of goods for TIL therapies."
Will Geist, President of Bio-Techne's Protein Science Segment, said: "As cell therapy advances from early research into clinical and commercial manufacturing, achieving consistency, robustness, and scalability across increasingly complex workflows is critical."
Bio-Techne, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, reported over $1.2 billion in net sales in fiscal year 2025 and operates across 34 locations worldwide.
