Flix and Klarna expand payment partnership to 21 markets

July 8, 2026 5:53 AM EDT

Flix and Klarna (NYSE: KLAR) have expanded their payments partnership, making Klarna available across 21 Flix markets, according to a press release from the companies.

The expansion adds the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, and Spain, among others, to Klarna's existing presence on Flix platforms in the U.S. and Sweden.

Klarna is now integrated directly into the Flix booking flow, offering passengers three payment options: payment in full at the time of booking, interest-free installments, or longer-term financing for larger purchases. For cross-border travel, Klarna will allow customers to pay in their local currency without foreign exchange fees. Klarna users will also receive exclusive deals when booking through Flix platforms, which include FlixBus, Greyhound, and Kamil Koç.

"Travel is one of the biggest spending categories in people's lives, yet flexibility at checkout has lagged behind," said David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna. "Together with Flix, we're giving travelers the freedom to choose how they pay, with full transparency and no surprises."

Alexander Schlüter, VP Marketing & Customer Product at Flix, said the expanded partnership gives passengers "more flexibility and control" when booking travel.

Flix operates long-distance bus and rail services in more than 40 countries across five continents. Klarna reported over 119 million global active users and 3.4 million transactions per day.
