Hyliion names defense advisor, targets $40-50M in military contracts

Hyliion Holdings Corp. (NYSE American: HYLN), a modular power plant technology developer, has appointed Abdul Subhani as a strategic advisor, according to a company press release. Subhani will provide guidance on defense strategy and military engagement.

Subhani is the founder and chief executive of Centex Technologies and has more than two decades of experience in national security, cybersecurity, and defense innovation. He has served as Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Texas and holds advisory roles at the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Center for a New American Security.

"The need for resilient, efficient power across the defense sector continues to grow," Subhani said. "Hyliion's technology has already generated strong interest from the U.S. military, and I believe it can play an important role in strengthening our nation's energy resilience and supporting next-generation defense capabilities."

Hyliion said it has secured multiple contracts with the U.S. Navy and expects to secure an additional $40–$50 million in military contracts during 2026. The company's KARNO power module is its primary product, which it says can operate on various fuel sources.

Thomas Healy, founder and chief executive of Hyliion, said Subhani's experience "at the intersection of technology and national security will be invaluable" as the company expands its military business.
