Broadridge Financial Solutions (NYSE: BR) reported that its Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR) platform processed $7.5 trillion in repo transactions during June, with an average daily volume of $357 billion. The daily average represents a 68% increase compared to the same period a year earlier, according to a press release from the company.
DLR allows firms to settle repo transactions using distributed ledger technology while operating within existing trading and post-trade workflows. The platform facilitates the movement of tokenized securities to support capital utilization, funding flexibility, and collateral management.
"Institutions are moving beyond evaluating distributed ledger technology. They're incorporating it into their day-to-day market activity," said Horacio Barakat, Global Head of Digital Innovation at Broadridge.
Broadridge also announced that aggregated market data from DLR is now available to Bloomberg Terminal subscribers through a collaboration with Kaiko. The data includes DLR repo par value, turnover, and trade count, accessible alongside existing fixed income data on the platform.
