Goldman Sachs Reiterates Conviction Buy Rating on Golar LNG Ltd. (GLNG)

Goldman Sachs analyst John Mackay reiterated a Conviction Buy rating and $66.00 price target on Golar LNG Ltd. (NASDAQ: GLNG)

The analyst comments "Ahead of 2Q26 earnings, we refresh our estimates for Golar LNG (GLNG, Buy - CL). For 2Q26, we estimate EBITDA of $116m, above consensus of $108m (+8%) but just lower vs our prior estimate of $120m (-3%), with better assumed Gimi operational performance more than oset by a modest commodity price M2M lower (albeit still up QoQ). For 2026, an additional assumed month of Hilli deployment and assumed continued strong Gimi performance (albeit likely lower in 3Q on seasonality) drive our EBITDA estimate to $325m, above consensus of $294m. Most in focus this quarter will be commercial updates and the strategic review, and we expect relatively constructive - if not denitive - updates on both this quarter. On the former, we look for color around a fourth FLNG announcement in the near-term (specically a vessel order late summer and commercial deal early fall, potentially), with a fth announced early next year. On the review, typical timelines would suggest a formal outcome closer to this fall, but we would expect GLNG to reiterate the depth and breadth of interested parties. While some investors we have spoken to have expressed some impatience recently on the lack of YTD updates, we continue to believe these (complicated) processes are playing out as expected - and continue to see material upside for the stock. On valuation, our PT stays at $66 (blend of $64 fundamental valuation and $74 theoretical M&A value - see below) - and we maintain our Buy rating."
