Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) attended the 2026 BIO International Convention in San Diego, where the company held meetings with potential pharmaceutical partners, according to a press release from the company.
Chief Executive Richard Christopher said the company met with a range of firms, from smaller technology-focused companies to large global pharmaceutical companies. "We are balancing new exploratory corporate opportunities with existing corporate relationships, with the intent of entering into partnership arrangements," Christopher said.
The company said most of its current business discussions are related to the GLP-1 sector. Lexaria noted a shift in focus at this year's BIO conference toward drug safety and adverse event profiles, with a growing number of pharmaceutical companies indicating interest in balancing weight-loss efficacy with tolerability and safety.
Lexaria also said it has received renewed interest in its DehydraTECH technology for CBD and nicotine applications, sectors in which the company has previously conducted research and development.
The company said it holds 66 granted patents and additional patents pending worldwide. No specific partnership agreements were announced.
