ICE reports 20% rise in open interest for June 2026

Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) reported June and second-quarter 2026 trading statistics, showing total open interest up 20% year-over-year across its markets.
In June, total financials average daily volume (ADV) rose 27% year-over-year, with open interest up 46%, including a record of 56.8 million lots on June 11. Total interest rates ADV climbed 29% year-over-year, with open interest up 52%, reaching a record 53.0 million lots on June 11. Euribor open interest hit a record 28.7 million lots on the same date. SONIA ADV rose 53% year-over-year, while NYSE equity options ADV increased 47% and NYSE cash equities ADV rose 32%.
Agriculture and metals combined ADV rose 29% year-over-year in June, with open interest up 43%. Cocoa ADV surged 97% year-over-year, cotton open interest rose 109%, and Asia gas open interest climbed 44%, reaching a record 252,000 lots on June 30.
For the second quarter, total agriculture and metals ADV reached a record, rising 36% year-over-year, driven by cotton ADV up 59%, cocoa ADV up 73%, and sugar ADV up 30%. Total financials ADV increased 22% year-over-year, with total interest rates ADV up 24%. NYSE equity options ADV rose 44% year-over-year, and NYSE cash equities ADV grew 12%.
"Open interest is up 20% year-over-year across ICE's markets," said Ben Jackson, President of ICE, in a statement accompanying the release.
