NN, Inc. (NASDAQ: NNBR) has received initial purchase orders to manufacture precision components for a robotic-assisted surgery platform, according to a company press release dated July 6, 2026.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based manufacturer passed a full-facility audit at its Kentwood, Michigan plant, a requirement for entering the robotic-assisted surgery supply market. The audit followed a multi-year investment program that included the installation of a new quality system at the facility.
Following the certification, an unnamed customer released its first purchase orders to NN with immediate delivery and ramp-up requirements. The company did not disclose the identity of the customer or the financial terms of the initial orders.
NN said its medical new business pipeline has grown by approximately $25 million as a result of the new customer relationship, bringing the total medical pipeline to approximately $75 million. The company's total corporate new business pipeline across all markets exceeds $750 million.
NN President and CEO Harold Bevis stated, "Passing this full facility quality audit and securing our first newly associated purchase orders to make precision components for a leading robotic surgery platform is a good step forward for NN."
The company said it plans to incorporate this development, along with recent data center wins, into a potential update to its 2026 sales, adjusted EBITDA, and new wins guidance during its next business update scheduled for August.
NN's existing medical business includes surgical instruments, orthopedic tools and components, electrosurgical products, suture-related products, and precision medical components. The company has manufacturing operations in North America, South America, Europe, and China.
