Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH) announced it has joined the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program and is applying GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber through its Frontier AI Cyber Defense services, according to a press release dated July 2, 2026.
The services are designed to help enterprise clients move from vulnerability discovery to validated and tested fixes. Cognizant's security professionals apply the technology across workflows including secure code review, threat modeling, vulnerability discovery and validation, detection engineering, threat hunting, and incident investigation and response.
Cognizant states it employs more than 5,000 security professionals and has operated a cybersecurity practice for over a decade. The company says it applies the capabilities internally across its own products, platforms, and repositories before deploying them in client engagements, describing itself as its own "Client Zero."
"Frontier AI has changed the equation for cyber defense, but a model's power only matters in how it is applied inside a real enterprise," said Sandra Notardonato, Global Head of Partner Development and Influencer Relations at Cognizant.
OpenAI's Vice President of Strategic Global Partnerships and Ecosystems, Colleen Kapase, said Cognizant "brings cybersecurity domain depth and delivery scale to help enterprises apply these capabilities responsibly, with the oversight and governance required to move from discovery to validated remediation."
The companies say the collaboration operates within a framework that includes scoped access, monitoring, and human oversight at each step of the workflow.
