Investing.com -- Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN) shares rose 5% Thursday following the company’s release of second quarter 2026 production and delivery figures and an upward revision to its full-year delivery guidance.
The electric vehicle manufacturer produced 12,613 vehicles at its Normal, Illinois facility and delivered 12,194 vehicles during the quarter ending June 30. The delivery figure exceeded Rivian’s previous outlook of 9,000 to 11,000 vehicles for the quarter.
Rivian attributed the stronger-than-expected results to robust quarter-over-quarter growth in its EDV and R1 models, along with the introduction of R2 deliveries.
Based on the second quarter performance and its outlook for the second half of the year, Rivian raised its full-year 2026 delivery guidance to 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles, up from the previous range of 62,000 to 67,000 vehicles.
The guidance increase represents a midpoint rise of 3,500 vehicles, or approximately 5.5%, from the company’s prior forecast.
