Service Properties Trust (Nasdaq: SVC) announced that its five-for-one reverse split of common shares is anticipated to become effective after the close of trading on July 6, 2026.
Under the terms of the reverse split, every five shares of issued and outstanding common shares will be combined into one share. The total number of outstanding common shares will be reduced from approximately 647.7 million to approximately 129.5 million.
SVC's common shares are expected to begin trading on a reverse split-adjusted basis on the Nasdaq Stock Market at market open on July 7, 2026, under the existing ticker symbol "SVC" with a new CUSIP number of 81761L 201.
The company stated that its regular quarterly cash distribution on common shares is expected to remain at $0.05 per share, or $0.20 per share annually, which it described as unchanged from previous distribution levels after accounting for the reverse split.
Service Properties Trust is a real estate investment trust that owns 761 service-focused retail net lease properties and 93 hotels across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada, according to the press release. The trust is managed by The RMR Group (Nasdaq: RMR).
