Jacobs (NYSE: J) has been selected by Tilt Renewables as Owner's Engineer for the 288-megawatt Palmer Wind Farm near Adelaide, South Australia, according to a press release from the Dallas-based company.
The project will feature 407.2MW wind turbine generators connecting to the grid at 275 kilovolts via two new substations and a transmission line to the existing Tungkillo switching station.
Jacobs will provide delivery phase services including design and documentation review, construction monitoring, grid connection support, and site inspections. Work will be divided among separate contractors covering turbine supply and installation, balance of plant, and grid connection. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 with completion expected in 2028.
Jacobs Executive Vice President Fiachra Ó Cléirigh said: "Our appointment as Owner's Engineer for Palmer Wind Farm reinforces Jacobs' position as a trusted delivery partner in Australia's growing renewables market and supports our ongoing relationship with Tilt Renewables."
The appointment adds to Jacobs' existing Australian project portfolio, which includes wind projects in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. Jacobs is also serving as delivery partner for the Marinus Link subsea high-voltage cable project connecting Tasmania to the Australian mainland grid.
