JetBlue updates aircraft livery to mark U.S. 250th anniversary

JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) has added a commemorative "250" design to its "Vets in Blue" aircraft to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. The updated livery was showcased at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., where U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy joined JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty and an all-veteran flight crew.

The "Vets in Blue" aircraft is JetBlue's existing special livery dedicated to U.S. military veterans. Alongside the livery update, the airline is issuing a limited run of 1,776 trading cards featuring the commemorative design.

JetBlue also announced a special inflight video honoring the United States and its veterans, narrated by Chief Operating Officer Warren Christie, a U.S. Navy veteran. The video will be available on all JetBlue flights throughout July, accompanied by a welcome screen featuring the "250" design.

During July, JetBlue crewmembers will assemble care packages for veterans, including sock bundles and personalized notes, to be distributed to VA hospitals across the airline's network. The airline's "Vets in Blue" crewmember resource group will also organize additional volunteer opportunities.

"I'm proud to see JetBlue join in on celebrating America's 250th anniversary," Secretary Duffy said. "JetBlue's patriotic plane embodies the great American spirit and reminds passengers our nation is worth celebrating."

JetBlue's existing veteran support programs include the Gateway Rotor Transition Program, which offers military-trained helicopter pilots a pathway to become JetBlue first officers, and an annual military hiring event held at JetBlue University.
