Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: MODD) has submitted a series of software enhancements for its Pivot insulin delivery system to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, according to a press release from the San Diego-based company.
The submission covers software upgrades intended to provide users with additional customization options and user-interface improvements. The company said the filing follows the initial FDA clearance of the Pivot tubeless insulin patch pump.
"This submission is the first of a series of further improvements and upgrades planned for the Pivot platform, now that our core form factor has been cleared by the FDA and is in the market," said Jeb Besser, Chief Executive Officer of Modular Medical. "We look forward to getting feedback from the FDA in the coming weeks."
Modular Medical did not disclose a timeline for an anticipated FDA response or specify the number of software changes included in the submission.
