Nova Minerals adds ex-JP Morgan metals banker to its board

Nova Minerals Corp appointed Joshua Girnun to its board of directors, effective July 1, 2026, according to a statement from the company.

Girnun previously worked at JP Morgan Chase & Co., where he co-founded a risk underwriting team covering metals and mining, energy, renewables, industrials, oil and gas, and agriculture sectors. He holds a Master of Science in Metals and Energy Finance from Imperial College London, a Master of Science in Geosciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and undergraduate geology degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand.

The appointment follows Nova Minerals' redomiciliation from Australia to the United States, a move the company said was intended to align its corporate structure with its U.S. asset base and broaden access to American government and institutional capital.

Nova Minerals is advancing the Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project in Alaska through feasibility and is preparing for near-term production of military-grade antimony trisulfide. That effort is supported by a $43.4 million award from the U.S. Department of War under the Defense Production Act, with production targeted for late 2026 or 2027.

CEO Christopher Gerteisen said in the statement that Girnun's background in institutional finance and technical geology would support the company as it moves from development into production. Girnun described the Estelle project as "one of the most significant undeveloped gold and critical minerals assets in North America."
