BYD reports 5.5% sales increase in June on export strength
Investing.com -- Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD reported a 5.5% year-over-year increase in total vehicle sales for June, reaching 403,472 units, according to a stock filing released today. The calculations were based on company filings.
The June results marked the second consecutive month of sales growth for the automaker, following a 0.3% increase in May that had broken an eight-month period of declining sales.
Strong export performance helped offset weaker demand in the domestic Chinese market, the filing indicated.
Competitor Leapmotor reported a 95% year-over-year sales increase for June, selling 93,376 electrified vehicles during the month.
