Napo Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Jaguar Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAGX), presented data at the 58th Annual European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition (ESPGHAN) Meeting in Lille, France, on June 27, 2026, showing reductions in parenteral support (PS) requirements in pediatric patients with intestinal failure (IF).

The presentations covered ongoing investigational use of liquid oral crofelemer as adjunctive therapy in pediatric IF patients with microvillus inclusion disease (MVID) and short bowel syndrome (SBS). In one MVID patient, weekly PS requirements normalized to body weight were reduced by up to 48% after more than 12 months of high-dose liquid oral crofelemer therapy. In two pediatric SBS-IF patients, weekly PS requirements normalized to body weight were reduced by up to 40% over the same period, with no significant clinical or laboratory abnormalities reported.

A separate e-poster presented data from an expanded access program in the U.S. involving an infant with MVID, showing that total daily parenteral nutrition volume and caloric delivery remained stable during crofelemer therapy despite ongoing growth, while stool output was simultaneously reduced.

"Liquid oral crofelemer as adjunctive therapy to PS has been well tolerated with no significant clinical or laboratory abnormalities throughout the ongoing treatment period of more than 12 months in these pediatric IF patients," said Dr. Pravin Chaturvedi, Chair of Scientific Advisory Board and Chief Scientific Officer of Napo and Jaguar.

Lisa Conte, Jaguar's founder, president, and CEO, said the company plans to apply for Breakthrough Therapy Designation for crofelemer for the MVID indication and expects to file a New Drug Application (NDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for that indication in mid-2027. Conte also noted that the program is the subject of business development discussions that could bring in non-dilutive funding from potential licensee partners.
