Varonis Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRNS) announced that its Data Security Platform has received GovRAMP Authorization, a certification that confirms the company meets cloud security standards set for state, local, tribal, and educational government agencies.
GovRAMP is a body that establishes standardized cloud security requirements for state and local governments. The authorization allows Varonis to serve public sector organizations handling sensitive data such as student records, taxpayer information, and emergency response systems.
"Government organizations are under pressure to manage and safeguard vast amounts of regulated data across on-prem, cloud, and AI systems," said Dror Shemesh, CISO at Varonis. "Varonis has long supported the SLED sector, and achieving GovRAMP validates our ability to meet stringent security and compliance requirements with solutions that continuously and automatically protect data at scale."
Varonis said it holds additional certifications including FedRAMP, TXRAMP, ISO 27001, and SOC 2. The company is based in Miami and its shares trade on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker VRNS.
