Vonage, a subsidiary of Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), has commercially launched fraud prevention tools in Canada using real-time mobile network data, the company announced. The solutions connect to Canadian carrier networks through a partnership with Aduna and EnStream, a joint venture of Bell, Rogers, and Telus.
The two products now available in Canada are SIM Swap Detection and Silent Authentication. SIM Swap Detection identifies recent SIM card changes in real time to flag potential account takeover attempts. Silent Authentication verifies a user's phone number through an active mobile data session without requiring a one-time passcode.
According to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, Canada recorded 33,854 fraud cases in 2025, resulting in $544 million in losses. Vonage cited an estimated 30–40% improvement in fraud detection rates from SIM Swap Detection, based on data triangulated from third-party sources including the Alloy State of Fraud Benchmark Report, 2025.
Ontario-based Storage Guardian has already integrated Vonage's SIM Swap Detection into its incident response offering.
The Canadian launch extends availability of both products beyond their existing markets, which include France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
EnStream serves as the gateway for telco data in Canada, aggregating network intelligence from Bell, Rogers, and Telus. Aduna acts as the network API aggregator connecting carriers to developer platforms, including Vonage.
