Schneider Electric extends EcoCare service plan to 3-phase UPS

June 30, 2026 8:02 AM EDT

Schneider Electric (Euronext Paris: SU) announced June 30 the expansion of its EcoCare service plan to cover 3-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment, adding AI-powered condition-based maintenance and 24/7 remote monitoring to that asset category.

The service plan monitors UPS assets at the component level, capturing data on temperature, wear, aging, partial discharge, and battery status. That data flows into Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure IT architecture, where predictive analytics are used to detect early signs of failure. The company says the approach can reduce electrical failure risk by up to 70% and cut intrusive on-site maintenance visits by up to 50%, extending intervals between manufacturer maintenance activities from one to up to two years.

Schneider Electric also claims up to 20% in operating expense savings compared with traditional calendar-based maintenance, citing a case study involving Compass Datacenters, where a fleet of 78 EcoStruxure modular data centers achieved that level of savings over two years. The company noted that the cited figures are non-contractual and based on internal data and customer experience.

"We're making invisible problems visible through digital connectivity—using data and AI to identify degradation and potential failures before they happen," said Bryan Stevens, Senior Vice President of U.S. Services at Schneider Electric.

The 3-phase UPS expansion follows the recent launch of EcoCare for building management systems and adds to an existing EcoCare portfolio that covers electrical distribution, single-phase UPS, and modular data centers.

According to the company's press release, power failures—frequently linked to UPS issues—remain the leading cause of data center outages, with the majority of incidents involving human error. Schneider Electric's Research Institute projects that U.S. electricity demand will require an additional 1,000–2,000 TWh per decade to support growth in AI, electrification, and industry.

EcoCare for 3-phase UPS includes break-fix emergency intervention backed by a service level agreement, remote and on-site technical support, and access to spare parts and training at discounted rates.
