Weight Watchers Med+ to support Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program access

June 30, 2026 8:00 AM EDT

WW International, Inc. (NASDAQ: WW) announced that its Weight Watchers Med+ program will support Medicare beneficiaries seeking access to GLP-1 medications through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program, according to a company press release.

Under the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program, eligible beneficiaries can purchase GLP-1 weight-loss medications, including Zepbound, KwikPen, Foundayo, and Wegovy pen and pill, for $50 per month. The program runs from July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027.

To qualify, participants must have Medicare Part D, meet clinical eligibility requirements, and hold a prescription for an eligible GLP-1 medication. The medication must be used alongside lifestyle changes, including nutrition and physical activity.

Weight Watchers said its Med+ program will assist members with insurance coverage navigation, paperwork, and prior authorizations. Members also receive access to nutrition support, medication tracking, refill reminders, and GLP-1 coaches through the company's GLP-1 Success Program.

"For many people, weight loss is about health, mobility and being able to keep doing the things they love," said Scott Honken, PharmD, Chief Commercial Officer at Weight Watchers.

The company cited internal data showing that Med+ members prescribed a GLP-1 medication who engaged regularly with the GLP-1 Success Program lost 29.1% more body weight on average at 12 months compared to those who did not engage in behavioral support. The analysis was based on 3,325 members and was not a randomized, controlled clinical trial. Self-reported outcomes were not independently verified.

A separate internal analysis of 92,160 members found that 73% of Med+ members given access to the GLP-1 Success Program reported that Weight Watchers Med+ helps minimize weight-loss medication side effects.
