OptimizeRx Corp. (Nasdaq: OPRX) announced the launch of CopayCue™, a product designed to deliver brand savings offers, such as copay cards and affordability resources, directly within the e-prescribing workflow at the point when a healthcare professional demonstrates intent to prescribe a specific therapy.
According to the company, CopayCue uses real-time prescribing intent data drawn from OptimizeRx's network of more than 400 electronic health record and e-prescribing platforms. The product is described as an enhancement to the company's existing Financial Assistance solution and is said to reach approximately 900,000 authenticated healthcare professionals. The solution also automatically sends savings offers to the pharmacy, appended to the prescription.
OptimizeRx cited internal data showing CopayCue increases prescription volume by 4% to 5% over electronic health record banner advertising alone, while standalone programs have achieved an average prescription lift of 11.5%.
The company referenced third-party data indicating that 43% of U.S. adults have not taken medication as prescribed due to cost, and that nearly two-thirds of prescriptions for newly launched drugs go unfilled in their first year. Non-adherence is estimated to cost the U.S. health system between $100 billion and $300 billion annually.
"CopayCue brings together two powerful signals: a physician's real-time intent to prescribe and a brand's ability to deliver savings support at that exact moment," said Louis Trivento, OptimizeRx SVP of Strategic Partnerships.
Stephen Silvestro, OptimizeRx CEO, said the product "builds on OptimizeRx's broader commitment to improve the impact of life sciences marketing and to expand patient access to therapy through point of care engagement."
OptimizeRx is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, and the announcement was made based on a company press release.
