MSC Income Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MSIF) announced that Nicholas T. Meserve will become chief executive officer in the fourth quarter of 2026, succeeding Dwayne L. Hyzak, who has held the role since October 2020.
Hyzak will remain with the company as executive chairman, working alongside Meserve following the transition. The change is described as part of the fund's board of directors' long-term succession plan.
Meserve currently serves as a managing director of MSC Income and group head of its private credit investment team. He has held the managing director role since 2020 and previously served on MSC Income's board from 2016 until 2020. He also serves as a member of the investment committee of Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE: MAIN) and MSC Adviser I, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Main Street that serves as investment adviser and administrator of the fund.
In his current role, Meserve leads sourcing, originating, and executing new investments for the fund, as well as managing its portfolio of private loan and middle market investments. He joined Main Street's investment team in 2012.
Before joining Main Street, Meserve worked at Highland Capital Management, LP, where he managed a portfolio of senior loans and high yield bonds. Prior to that, he was a credit analyst at JP Morgan Chase & Co.
Hyzak said in a statement that Meserve "has led the Fund's private loan investment strategy since the inception of the Fund" and was "highly valuable" during the fund's growth, its public listing in 2025, and its focus on private loan investments.
