Ouster, Inc. (Nasdaq: OUST) announced that its Rev8 family of OS digital lidar sensors now complies with Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act requirements, making the sensors eligible for use in federally funded infrastructure projects.
The BABA Act establishes domestic procurement preferences for all federally funded infrastructure projects. With this compliance, Rev8 sensors can be deployed by state and local transportation agencies, engineering firms, and system integrators in projects such as intelligent transportation systems, smart cities, transit networks, and tolling systems.
The compliance also extends to Ouster BlueCity, the company's traffic management solution that combines 3D digital lidar with AI software. Ouster says the BlueCity system with Rev8 sensors offers 500-foot advanced detection and an optional native color feature.
"As the United States accelerates its modernization of key infrastructure, we are proud to offer BABA compliant lidar with our new Rev8 family," said Ouster CEO Angus Pacala. "By meeting these domestic manufacturing and sourcing standards, we are making it possible for our customers to leverage federal funding to deploy cutting-edge Physical AI and perception technology on American roadways and transit systems."
The announcement was made based on information provided in a company press release.
