Box, Inc. (NYSE: BOX) announced the expansion of its Box Zones service to three new regions — Switzerland, Israel, and Singapore — while also adding in-region compute capabilities to its existing France and Canada zones.
With the additions, Box Zones now covers 10 locations worldwide, including Australia, Canada, the European Union, France, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Across all zones, storage and key processing activities such as content uploads, downloads, and file encryption will occur within the designated region.
The service is designed to help organizations meet data residency and regional compliance requirements. Customers can activate preferred regions, set a default zone, and assign users to specific zones within a single Box instance.
"Data residency has become a non-negotiable business decision for multinational enterprises and regulated industries," said Samantha Wessels, SVP EMEA at Box.
The new regions will be available in the coming months for customers on Enterprise Plus and Enterprise Advanced plans. Box said pricing is fully inclusive with no additional per-region fees.
Box also said it plans to introduce in-region storage and processing for content metadata and Box AI later this year.
