Lemonade (NYSE: LMND) announced the availability of its renters insurance in Mississippi, expanding the company's coverage across the United States.
Coverage starts at $5 per month. According to the company, its renters insurance rates are approximately 30% lower than the national average, based on company and industry data.
The product is managed through a mobile app where customers can obtain quotes, purchase and update policies, and file claims. The company states that about 40% of claims are handled instantly.
Customers may be eligible for additional savings through policy bundling, qualifying home safety devices, or annual billing.
"Mississippi represents another important step in Lemonade's continued expansion across the United States," said Dan Timsit, Head of Renters Insurance at Lemonade. "Our goal is to make insurance easier to understand, easier to access, and easier to manage."
Lemonade currently serves more than 3 million active customers in the U.S., U.K., and Europe across renters, home, pet, car, and life insurance products.
