Aurora Mobile's EngageLab launches Silent Auth in 36 countries

June 29, 2026 7:00 AM EDT

Aurora Mobile Limited (NASDAQ: JG) announced that its customer engagement platform, EngageLab, has launched a passwordless authentication product called Silent Auth, now available across 36 countries on five continents, according to a company press release.

Silent Auth is designed to work alongside existing SMS one-time password (OTP) systems rather than replace them. The product uses carrier network connections to verify the match between a user's phone number, SIM card, and device in the background, completing the process within milliseconds and without requiring user input.

The company states the solution targets high-sensitivity transactions such as fund transfers, password resets, and account recovery, where standard SMS OTP is described as insufficient on its own. For users the system cannot verify silently, it automatically falls back to SMS OTP.

Aurora Mobile claims the product boosts registration and login conversion rates by an average of 20% to 30%. The company also states that Silent Auth's data transmission is designed to align with privacy and financial regulations including the California Consumer Privacy Act and regional banking mandates such as BSP Circular 1213.

Three stated use cases for the product include faster registration and login, real-time SIM swap detection during high-risk operations, and marketing fraud prevention by blocking virtual numbers and automated scripts during campaign participation.

Aurora Mobile was founded in 2011 and is listed on the Nasdaq exchange.
