Bullish gets Gibraltar approval for tokenized securities trading

June 29, 2026 6:45 AM EDT

Bullish (NYSE: BLSH) has received approval from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) to offer trading in tokenized securities, according to a press release from the company.

The approval allows Bullish to offer secondary trading of issuer-sponsored tokenized securities within Gibraltar's regulatory framework. Trading is expected to go live in the coming weeks, subject to pre-go-live conditions.

Tom Farley, CEO of Bullish Group, said: "This approval allows us to bring the benefits of tokenization to securities markets within a robust, supervised framework, and continues the work we began with the GFSC to set a global standard for regulated digital asset markets."

The company said the offering will be available to eligible non-U.S. investors. Tokenized securities use blockchain infrastructure and can allow continuous 24/7 trading and near-instant settlement, compared with the multi-day delays of conventional post-trade processing.

The approval follows Bullish's announced agreement in May 2026 to acquire Equiniti (EQ), a transfer agent serving nearly 3,000 issuer clients and more than 20 million shareholders. Bullish said the combined platform, once the transaction closes, is intended to cover the full lifecycle of a tokenized security, including issuance, registry, and trading.
