Investing.com -- Iran and Oman will hold discussions to establish future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Thursday.

Araqchi stated in a post on X that he held a productive call with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi regarding the matter. The talks follow a recent joint statement issued in Muscat.

The Iranian foreign minister said both countries are determined to pursue the discussions with their neighbors in the region.

Oman informed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Gulf Arab ministers at a meeting Thursday that future arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz would not include transit tolls.
